I had: orange chicken, ribs, chow mein, shrimp with sauce, chestnut shrimp, and rice.
After that I had soft-served ice cream (vanilla and strawberry) for dessert. :)
Yum.
Earlier, we went to Nordstrom, a high-end mall. It’s like the Rustan’s of America. Anyway, at first, I didn't enjoy because the place all i could see were these Gucci, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, etc.
And then, we got in to see that there were actually some cheaper boutiques. :))
We had "lunch" at Tommie's Burgers. Didn't like it. Parang Jollibee lang. Liked the fries, though. Fries that looked like wedges. :)
Then we heard mass at St. Mel's Chapel. First of all, I didn't know that there was a Saint Mel? Second, I like how the people in the chapel are really nice. Before the mass the priest asked everyone to stand up and greet people. And after the mass, the priest stayed near the door to shake hands with the people as they go out. Although i found it weird (and funny) how some of their actions differ from how we do mass back home. Like the time for kneeling, and how they recite the Apostle's Creed, etc.
After that was dinner, and now we're back in my tito's house.
Soo. tomorrow we go to SanFo J
Updates (and pictures, hopefully) soon. J
While it’s still fresh…
WOW. I can’t believe that the culmi’s over.

I’m so tired yet energized at the same time.
All in all, I am happy. Even though I had doubts even minutes before the event, things worked out, and I owe it to a lot of people.

And of course, our awesome GOD, who fueled our minds as we conceptualized this event and acted upon it. Who fueled our hearts to giving this our best, so that people will realize His will.
Also, to all those who came, with hopes of finding God again, and being refueled by His love, thank you. J
Kyawi and Kevin, nice to see you again. Jiro and Riezel, nice meeting you. J You guys are always welcome in Ateneo. Hehe. J
I faci-ed during the household discussions and sadly, I wasn’t able to share. L (Yeah, you have to give way sometimes.) I posed these questions to the group:
1. How was the semester for you?
2. How did you feel God throughout the semester?
The first question’s easy for me to answer: it was difficult. I got sick a lot and I was usually out of focus. This sem also I tried to explore a lot of interests by joining several orgs, only to find out that being active in one is hard enough. Building and keeping my relationship with blockmates has also been challenging given that our schedules do not complement as much as we want them to. Family relationships have also been affected by my studies. The value of Sunday family time has become a thing of the past. Personal issues plagued me as well.
But then, this sem was not only comprised of such problems, because I am proud to say that I felt a great deal of God throughout this rough semester. For one, I felt Him through yfc, I felt Him through the old faces who I am strengthening relationships with and through the new people who are wholeheartedly welcoming me into their hearts.
I felt him through my household, people I do not know but take great responsibility for. I’ve always wanted to write bout my household but I never found the time, so here it goes:
I love my household. I love being household head. When I first got hold of the folder containing my household’s profiles, I got really excited. I remember reading them one by one, learning about their basics, their interests, and their hopes in joining yfc. I felt so eager to meet them, to make kuwento, and yes, to be their mommy. J The group assigned to us is majorly composed of freshmen, so the “ate” (makes me feel so old hahaha) was inevitable.
Then came the day of the first household, and praise God for 7 (out of 14) came! J I remember having to run from Bellarmine, where I had my class, to Matteo Up, where we met our household. It was a light session. We had m&m’s and played the game where you ask a question based on the color of the m&ms. Everyone was so game it felt like we were just one barkada talking, laughing, and sharing m&ms at matteoJ then we played 2 truths and a lie and got to know more of each other’s trivia. J
Then, the more challenging second household, where we had trouble because sevi (my partner) and I were not able to read the household manual beforehand (sorry, evange.) Thankfully we were able to improvise and act like we knew what we were doing. Hahaha! We discussed prayer and our members gave wonderful insights J then, we had the usual kamustahan towards the end. J Sevi gave me a high five for another successful household. J
I guess another reason why I love being household head is the sense of fulfillment this “task” gives me. This sense of fulfillment is simple really: seeing my household attend yfc activities, or visit the room or make friends with each other. I also like it that whenever I’m down, I tend to text someone from the household and ask how he or she is doing. It strengthens me in a way that I convert my sadness into a drive to make other people happy.
A short prayer for YFC-A:
Lord God, thank you for an amazing amazing sem. Thank you for making Your presence felt through this wonderful family. May you bless us as we go through our final weeks for this semester. Bless everyone, Lord God, with the strength and motivation to finish strong. Watch over our families and keep them always under Your protection. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
P.S.
I hope that everyone is refueled, revived, refreshed, and ready for life’s exhilarating drive forward. J Last 2 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks!!!
I miss you all!
How are you guys? Comment!! :)
Hopefully, I get to update this journal... regularly. ;)
See you all soon!
